It is expected that the Samsung Galaxy S IV will be out in the market by June-July this year. However, we are still in the speculation phase with no confirmations from the company itself other than a host of “leaked images” and “leaked specifications”.
The Leaked Details
As per the details leaked online, staying true to its ‘Mini’ title, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini will have a 4.3-inch AMOLED qHD display with 960x540pixels resolution and 256ppi pixel density.
The device is expected to be available in single SIM and dual SIM versions with the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating System, which is a wonder since the Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie version is all set to be launched in the month of May. Hopefully, the device will come with the Key Lime Pie update on it. Inside the device, tech experts are speculating a 1.6GHz dual core processor, and not the octa core processor that will be on the Galaxy S4. This is a small compromise considering the price difference we can expect.
Samsung had not been stingy with loading the Galaxy S3 Mini with good specifications, and we are sure it will surely grace the Galaxy S4 Mini generously as well.
The Leaked Images
The leaked images of the Galaxy S4 Mini surfaced on Twitter with the model number of the device shown as GT-I9190, and show a smaller version of the Galaxy S4. Considering the more or less generic design of the Galaxy devices, we may as well expect these images to be true.
It is believed that the yet to be revealed Galaxy S4 Mini will home Samsung’s TouchWiz Nature UX 2.0 user interface.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini vs. iPhone 5
Going by the tech specs and the image of the device, it appears to be a closer competitor to the iPhone 5 than its big brother the Galaxy S4. However, we expect it to fall in a lower price band that the iPhone 5, making it a bigger crowd puller. However, the Galaxy S4 Mini will not be packed with all the goodies that one will find on the iPhone 5. So, we can just wait and watch out for the outcome. Of course, there is a chance that Apple will come out with an upgraded version of the iPhone 5 by the time the S4 Mini is out.
For India?
The Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini did not make its appearance on the Indian markets, so the arrival of the Galaxy S4 Mini is a very distant speculation. However, considering the seriousness with which Samsung views its Indian audience, we can definitely not lose hope this time.
